If you’re here reading this, it’s cause you want to know who Dieter Grunewald is.. To be honest, the best is to find out for your self, in person, but let me tell you a little about me to start you off.
First and foremost, I’m a husband and father. My family will always come first. Sorry, if you disagree, but the most important thing to me, is to ensure that my wife is happy, and that my children have what they need to make a success in life for themselves. My mother and brothers are the next most important people in my life.
My dad passed away when I was just 10 months old, so my mom raised me alone with the help from my brothers. It’s also the reason that my children will always be so important to me. I never want my children to go through what I went through, or at lease as much as I can control it.
Moving onto my professional career. I spent 25+ years in the entertainment industry, from rolling cables, recoiling speakers, night clubs, large concerts, broadway theatre shows, recording studios, cruise ships, I did it all. Installed sound, lighting, video and Fx systems. I did front of house, monitors, broadcast, stage management, and eventually event coordination and management.
I spent 10years working for Royal Caribbean International, starting as an audio engineer, and working my way up to Stage and Production Manager. Travelled the world and learnt so many different things about different people, and different cultures. I also gained so much leadership experience through this opportunity.
After I got married, my wife and I decided to move to Malta. It’s peaceful, small, and English is one of the official languages, so it made it a little easier. I decided to continue my passion for business and networking with people. I met some of the top business owners in Malta, from lawyers to CEO’s, I started to develop a large local network. All along always keeping my music and production brands going. I started my first company in Malta, Mosquito Busters Malta, which taught me a lot about business, financials, customers, sales, and more importantly marketing.
I did a couple of months of marketing intern work for a local marketing agency, Growth Gurus. There I learnt about affiliate marketing, social media marketing, became exceptionally good at outbound marketing, or email marketing. This skill set then led me on to meet, and do work for several international clients. I also started working as a self-employed property consultant.
In June 2020, I was laid off due to COVID 19, from Eden Cinemas where I was the Business Development Executive. This position allowed me to meet several key people a vast number of industries.
I’m always looking for a new business idea, and would like to one day call myself a serial entrepreneur. Thankfully, I have learnt to be humble, patient, and most of all vigilant, and that success comes to those who have these traits.
My biggest mentor in my business career is my oldest brother Brendon, who is a serial entrepreneur, and a successful one as well. My middle brother Clem has always been the fun working type brother. I always joke and say, my oldest brother got the brains, my middle brother got the looks, but I got the charm 🙂
My hobbies include things like snowboarding, fishing camping, playing sport, go-karting, etc. I also love to fly my drone (Phantom 4), and take landscape photo’s, or sunset videos. I love making music and music videos, writing songs, playing musical instruments (guitar/ukulele/drums/piano/didgeridoo). I enjoy video editing, and chalk drawing, and still love recording and mixing bands, or songs etc. When I became a father, I added spending time with my kids to that list as well.
I’ve always dreamt of being a pilot, and often say, if I could do it over, I would be a pilot, but, I am very grateful for where I am, and what I’ve become – don’t get me wrong.
I enjoy a multitude of sports, from Hockey (That’s regular field hockey, not that boxing on ice stuff), to Formula 1. I have coached hockey as high as national level, and have the results of every practise, qualifying and race for the last 3 years of Formula 1.. I’m obsessed..
So, now you know a little about me, lets meet, and you’ll see I’m actually even better in person than I am online.. If you would like to hear some of my stories, from my travels around the world, take a look at my blog page (coming soon), or feel free to contact me.
